In virtue of the power conferred on him by the Imperial
Chancellor under $7 of the Decree of the Federal Council
(Bundesratsverordnung) of 30th September. 1914, concerning
the prohibition against payments to England, the Imperial
Consul General in Shanghai has, until further notice, as an
exception to this prohibition and in consideration of special
local conditions, permitted the remittance of Insurance
premiums to England,
As the above mentioned exception applies equally to this
District and also in the interest of reconstructing German
Insurance business after the war, I beg to request private
and confidential information as to what is the average annual
amount of the premiums remitted to England by your Firm for
English Insurance Companies.
